Yesterday when I was driving through a construction zone (Hwy 151/18 between Dubuque and Madison, WI),
there was a rig in front of me. I slowed down to 55, but he didn't. Came over a rise and a State Trooper was
doing radar. Trooper pulled him over immediately. I wonder what speeding in a construction zone is going to
cost that driver? Definitely not worth the time he was trying to save. Ouch
I've often seen DOUBLE fine zones. I don't know what it will cost that fellow ...I hate to think ...but I don't dare violate any construction zone. Sometimes I tend to be extra slow in these zones with impatient motorists on my hind bumper. These zones are often narrow in lane width and have uneven asphalt so I have to slow down for ride comfort as well. Being 30 minutes late for an appointment is still definitely cheaper than than any fines, jail and/or license suspension or maybe even being given the boot by the driver's company.
