Hey there! New Driver Question!

Western Express is what you make of it, Solo flatbed overall avg with my time their I was making 6-700 a week. Sometimes I would get a big check and a very small one. This was an avg with a good amount of truck maintenance.

Overall I made more than I thought I would but less than what some say was possible.

I am glad that this career move has been a solid choice for you.

I can relate to a lot of what you said being im just creeping on my 6 months exp. Audible is almost like a desert I cherish when I have a good weekend run.

Stay safe and keep working hard. 👊

Lack of communication

It is a real dilemma the tornado that his tenn a couple months ago has had western exp phone lines down. So unless his dm gave him his private line qualcom is the only way. I also agree as a shop supervisor for assistance.

So got my truck assigned to me and my boys named it The Bulldawg Beast. I got a load assignment. For in the morning about 1 in the morning inkiti my battery was completely dead in the truck. Now I was parked behind the shop so i was told by breakdown to talk to the shop to jump the truck. Pretty much it needed new batteries.. well then longer its in the shop the more they were finding things wrong with the truck. The whole time I am emailing my dm updating him on the truck. Im emailing him because the only way to contact weekend dispatch is through the Qualcomm and i can't get to it. So the truck has been in the shop all day and is still there and won't be done until Monday. On the western express app you can read messages but not respond. They just sent me one telling me im still on a load and to inform them that the truck is still in the shop. Now how in the world can I inform you if the only way to contact you is from the Qualcomm and the truck is in the shop. Is there something im missing?

Call the # you were given for your DM, the night and weekend crew will answer that phone as well. Let them know what's going on and they should cancel that load. Just let your DM know when you are ready on Monday.

Western Express Trucking Contract

double-quotes-start.png

What kind of contract did you sign if company?

double-quotes-end.png

Probably the same one you signed when you began training with W.Ex. Jim.

Well that's what got me curious G-town, I read everything I signed but it also wasn't what i would be worried about.

Unless he is talking about a longevity contract that might be different and haven't seen one myself yet.

Introduction from a silent assassin.

Hey everyone I've have been silently following on here for a year, researching, learning, etc.

I got my cdl nov 13th of this year and am training with western Express. I have read some great articles that have really allowed me to be in a great mind frame as I train with this company.

Things like: Performance based occupation All company's are in the business of making money Dont get sucked into other driver negativity and have your own experiences.

I am done with week 1 on my 34 hour reset Running expedited fedex runs one big loop each week. Ohio-newjersey and back and the Ohio-cali and back.

I feel like I got really lucky with my trainer I am extremely pleased,I think I earned his respect in my first week. Ended up avg about 600 miles a day all week.

Basically just wanted to introduce myself and let everyone that these posts and articles are still helping people in alot of ways. I appreciate everyone.

-Jim
