ChickenWing's Bio

My step dad put me on his lap in his cab over peterbilt and let me 'drive' around the world. I swore I was going to be a trucker like him one day. Well life got in the way, so after deciding I was tired of sitting behind a desk while the boss travelled the world, I quit running his billion dollar empire. Took off on motorcycle and had a mid life crisis.

It is time for me to be the one seeing the new places and keep that promise to myself.

I am the luckiest driver ....somedays

So it has been a journey upto the 6 month+ mark. A few co drivers, a brand new 2021 Freightliner I got in Feburary with 19 miles, and a dedicated route from East L.A. to Ohio and back in a week. One thing I have to admit it can be grueling dealing with the haters and supertruckers sometimes. Most days I am just to tired to argue with them and quietly walk away. This is a lifestyle for sure more than a job. My next goal is to fulfill my contract and go solo. Only real regrets I have is not doing this years ago and not getting an extra mattress as soon as I got my truck.

Profanity in public x4

Thanks everyone for the congratulations. Careers Worldwide is an awesome school ! From Tom to Victoria, everyone just wants to see you succeed, so I am complexed at some of the failures and people sent home for failed drug test, DUI on record, etc. I am just ready to get this. contract behind me soak up every bit of knowledge and skills I can. I have already had an awesome, stressful, grande adventure and I love this life style even sitting in a TA in Rawlings Wyoming for days.

Profanity in public x4

I went with CRST finishing g the last week with my trainer, he has been awesome. Have my co-driver and new truck already set to run. Everything has been so fast paced and almost grueling, but if you just "keep on keeping on" it will all come together and click. Well for me anyways, that's how I learn repeated involvement, until something just clicks and all the information directly connects to the physical and miraculously I can do it. Driving a trailer into a blindside while knowing the gears watching the mirrors and being f aware of the rules and environment is stressful but when it clicks and know you can do it......oh hell what a feeling!

Profanity in public x4

Sorry it’s been a minute. I used my resources and was straight forward and ended up at company sponsored Careers Worldwide in Keenesburg Colorado just finished headed to DMV this morning to get my Class A. This place has been awesome great instructors and great class. The class after us was huge compared to mine. We started with 35 and by beginning of last week we had 12 who all but one got there CDL. I finished 2nd in my class behind a guy we nicknamed One Shot as he literally OneShot everything. Just wanted to let everyone know if your honest and Put in the hard work stay focused you can do this. It has been a journey of many cold grueling mornings and fast paced studying but now I have a year to earn my reputation and fulfill a childhood dream, and it is an adventure that beats the hell out sitting behind a desk, so let those big wheels start turning. Thanks everyone for your input, any tool for your toolbox is a blessing.

Chicken wing use this app to Apply For Paid CDL Training. One application will send it to many different carriers. Keep applying, I'm sure someone will bite. If you still cant find anything check out Western Express, Carolina Cargo or CR England. The starting pay is less than others but they're known for giving people 2nd (and 3rd) chances that other carriers wont touch. Ignore the trash you read about them, put in a year of safe driving and you'll find some carriers not wanting you now will be more than happy to hire you.

Wilbur, what would the penalty have been for loud music? I'm not a lawyer but it seems like it would've been alot less severe than disorderly conduct.

The way the law reads I understand, the officer I dealt with has a personal beef because I dated his ex-wife and public profanity the can tow your car, and fine you. Even took my bike, once and had it towed to his house. So I understand and I understand how it looks (like Wilbur said) but I know the man in the mirror.
