Swift walmart dedicated in Florida penny for your thoughts

So while I love Freymiller. I am so done with otr while my boys are growing up with me not there, and paying rent on an apartment in Titusville Fl that im at only 4 days a month. So long story longer I may be offered a dedicated route with swift on their florida walmart contract. They say its mostly Cocoa, Miami, and Tampa and ill make at least 1200 a week. Im taking it with a grain of salt because i know the recruiters are paid to give you homoney and hog crap but make it smell like a steak dinner. So has any had experience with the florida dedicated route with swift/walmart?

Is the drug test urine only?

As of right now yes and will pop randoms out of no where but they have the right to change to hair follicle at any minute. If that is a yay or nay for a company for you. Any company can change on a dime. Just a thought if you are interested hit me up on my email.

Why I avoid terminals like the plague

I dont think its just the terminals as terrible as your company's terminal are. People think we don't come in contact with people much but we all know thats not true and lets be honest a lot of truckers arent the most sanitary. From drivers who don't know how to properly sit on a toilet seat, or washing there feet in the freaking sink. Lets not forget the ones who believe covid 19 is fake.

Western Express year contract

No no no no no When they don't ever tell you how much you pay you ask him but they him Hall around the question because They don't want to tell anybody because I know that no smart person is gonna take12 t To 24 cents a mile so there you go. And if I get to my house at 10 o'clock at night that is not called the day off you don't work the 1st day of your Vacation time That is just straight up Communist. No I don't think I will because freyMiller knows how to actually treat their employees right and actually pay them where they can actually live. There's a reason people call Western express welfare express you could go freaking flip burgers at McDonald's and Make as much as Western pays their drivers but I apologise if I offended anybody for telling the truth on trucking truth.com

double-quotes-start.png

I burn that bridge the moment they told me That driving 600 milesAnd getting to your house at 10 o'clock at nightWhy is my 1st day of home time after being out for 2 months so yes I poured the gasoline on that sucker lit the match and Threw it with a smile on my face.

You knew that was their policy when you started. You had no problem accepting that, or the lower pay when they were the only ones willing to take you on. Instead of being grateful for that you repay them by trashing them online. That says alot about you as a person and I hope you teach your kids better. Have you noticed a difference in the childish behavior you exhibit and other professionals here that have changed jobs? Nearly everyone else says they were thankful for the experience, had a good run but found something that was a better fit. But not you! You need to continue to pass the blame that you couldn't support your family so it MUST be the companies fault. You're comparing your first 6 months to where you are now from an income perspective. Little do you know that's when drivers are getting better with trip planning, HOS and backing leaving them more time to drive.

I'm not even going to waste any more time on this. You clearly have it all figured out. Please stop by in a couple months when Freymiller has done you wrong and you're onto the next best company.

Western Express year contract

So, back to the OP's question asking for suggestions on how he should deal with the contract with Western Express....

Bash the company at every single opportunity, no matter how long ago you drove there, and irregardless that this was the only company that would hire you. Do I have that correct, Georgia Mike?

Yes because I am trying to keep the guy from signing something that hes gonna regret later so yes I will tell the truth about a company that is terrible horrible no good. This is called trucking truth correct. I'm not wrong for telling the truth about how a company acts And treats their drivers

There waas no way to see my DM face-to-face because he wasn't a whole different city. Angie can't use the clock calm in a hotel Room when your truck is in the shop I'm sorry.

double-quotes-start.png

I guess this is the not showing initiative that I'm old school is preaching so hard about. That does not work at Western express Sorry old school That company is still trash

double-quotes-end.png

Phone conversations?

Use your Qualcomm for that stuff. That creates a record that your DM doesn't want coming back on him. Plus you sound like a smart ass even in what you are sharing with us. I have a feeling you were probably a real PITA to deal with.

Now once that truck is in the shop you go right inside and speak to your DM face to face. There's a hundred trucks sitting there with no drivers in them. You get one assigned to you and you are on the road. It is easy if you have been a productive driver who is easy to get along with. Your DM referred to you in the conversation as needing to be babysat. That makes it clear that you are just exactly like I have been describing. They don't like drivers like that. Those drivers get overlooked on loads and everything else that is important to them.

I'm sorry Georgia Mike, you burned some bridges, and the way you keep presenting it makes it obvious why.

I'm not OTR so I don't deal with breakdowns the same way you do. Why does your DM need to be involved other than telling them you're unavailable for dispatch? They have dozens of other drivers they need to worry about. What I'd do is deal exclusively with the shop, THEN reach back out and give them an update of how long they're expecting to take and try to make arrangements for a temporary truck if needed. This is exactly what Old School talks about when he compares trucking to being a business owner and needing to be self sufficient to get things done.

As highly as you talked about this website helping you get started (which led to Brett appearing on Road Dog XM) You sure haven't followed much of the advice we've given to help.

Are you freaking kidding me I was working for penitentiary express at that time I don't remember any time Brett saying be a doormat for a company that isn't gonna pay you I tried to stick it out I can't get screwed and I kept on saying it will get better It's got to get better But it never did At some point I had to Be a Man and choose poverty or better pay so I went with the smartest one which would anybody with a brain would do and shows better pay and I was the best decision I have ever made in my trucking industry. I nearly cried when I got my 1st check that was over a $1000 at where I am at now. Is this the perfect company no because there's no such thing. To talk about the things that a lot of trucking companies does wrong keep an open mind but my God people let's be realistic here
