Game: The longest you have ever sat in a dock.

I can't remember the exact amount to time but it was long enough to get a 34 in, I was waiting for them to make waffles. and it was supposed to be a preloaded trailer.

Is this normal to make this little money?

My advise for dealing with anxiety is put a bike on the truck, or go for a run before bed. After almost being hit a few times you will realize that your problems are not to bad and you will be tired so it will help you sleep better. Talk to a homeless person, being distracted by someone else problems take your mind off your and gives you perspective. My personal favert is play classical music before bed. Or you can always come talk to us, we will tell it how it is. And maybe give you more nightmares.

"Joey have you ever seen a grown man naked?" Aka a truck driver, will give you nightmares for months.

Z what the others have said is, correct. You want to be remembered in a good way with your DM. Right now you have not had time to show them how good you can work. So they don't know you, here is what I did when I drove from Swift. They would give me a load that had way too much time on it so first I would let them know my eta to the 90 then I would show up at the 90 on that time or before. Then I would send my arrival macro and check in, see if they could work me in early. If anything it shows them you can do what you say you will do. When you show this constantly your DM will know they can give you more and you will not let them down. The relationship with your DM is a 2 way street, if you perform poorly/good it reflects well on them there boss is not chewing their ass out so then they look kindly on you. Remember **** rolls down hill. You are able to make way more then what you are making now. Don't panic, talk to your DM and show them what you can do. Also I don't know where you are but there are some parts of this county wear Swift does not have a lot of freight and your DM might be trying to work you out of there and into some place with more freight. Also remember anytime you want to go home your miles will drop as well.

Take deep breaths and good luck

Is that your gross pay or net pay? How many deductions are coming out of your check? How long have you been solo for? How is your time management? Are you burning hours sitting waiting to get loaded or are you saving as much for driving? It's not uncommon for you to need to prove your self to your dm so to really help you we need more info please.

Traffic Jam and Swift Mentor

double-quotes-start.png

I thought it was supposed to be a video of taking a 14' tall trailer thru a 13'8" overpass.

double-quotes-end.png

You mean taking a 13' 6" trailer and somehow hitting a 14-foot bridge... dancing-banana.gif

Swift has 14 foot trailers most of them are on dedicated routes in the northwest.

Traffic jam, fitting name, don't get to bothered about this set back. There are many traffic jams you will hit in the next year. Mental ones, at shippers, waiting for loads, at truck stops and sitting for hours in traffic jams. And the list goes on. It gets better as time goes on. So enjoy the wait, there will be times you wish you were waiting more.

Bunk ac not blowing cold.

The hole system on that truck is connected, the there is only one compressor but 2 sets of about everything else. The front cab has it's ac component and the bunk has it's set. If the piping is not hot or could I think that the back system is not working at all. Do you get any bunk ac falt codes? Check the fuse panel both front and back make shere something is not blown, I assume there is not water dripping out from under the bunk condenser? I might be looking at a shop visit for this the ac system on the 09-11 prostar are so bad that international went back to the old system after that my truck is in the shop every 3 to 6 months for ac problems.

I know on a hot day my truck is a condo. And the air in the truck only gets down to about 20 below out side temp there is to much volume for the ac to cool it any cooler the air at the vent is 64 to 70, the shops says that's normal, but the temp in the truck won't fall that low.

Make shere the piping under the bunk is connected. Is it blowing hot? Cool? Or not at all? Remember the ac a truck only cools to about 20 below the out side temp so if it's 120 it's only cooling to 100.

Trucking At Night Versus During The Day?

I used to run reefer, I took a lot of all night or would run nights because I could get more miles in without traffic know I run a flat bed. Most of my appointment are arrive during business hours. But that's not always the case. A few months ago I was sitting in Reno, it's about 7am just getting done with a 34 and I get a call from dispatched asking if I can do a special run for them the load picks up at 1700 hours and has to be in L.A. first thing in the morning the 3 other drivers in front of me had already turned it down so I took it, it payed expedited any ways so that's more money for me. The receiver is a 24 hour shop. I get down there around 3am off load. Take 8 hour in the sleeper and role to another load, and am in and out of L.A. with out dealing with to much rush hour traffic. Don't limit yourself by saying you can't run this or that. Or you won't run these loads or that state. Some of my best money I have made out here by doing things that are not fun or easy. Also if your dispatcher know your a hard worker you will move to the top of there bored for favors so when you want to take a 34 at the house on your kids birthday it just might happen.
