Hopeful Swift Driver in Boston

I've seen a Western Express parked in a lot not too far from me. There's also some pay lots nearby, but I'm not sure what the company requires.

It's not important if Swift has a drop yard or not. When you want to go home they'll find you a load delivering / picking up nearby or passing through with enough time you can stop by the house. As far as the truck if you're unable to park it at home are there any truckstops or big chain stores nearby you could park it at while home?

Hopeful Swift Driver in Boston

Hey Everyone!

I'm looking to get started with Swift at their academy in Richmond. My question is (because the recruiter didn't have an answer), are there any drop yards in Massachusetts? Swift's nearest terminal to me is in either Syracuse or NJ. It just seems to be a drag driving home for 5 hours in order to get some hometime. I'm not trying to look too far down the road. A lot of work needs to be done to become a driver there. Just a rookie question from a guy that needs to know.

Thanks and stay safe.

Narrowing it Down

Hello Everyone, Love this site, and the forums are great for a trucker-to-be. I am going to attend either Schneider or Swift’s driver academy. My question, and it’s one the recruiter couldn’t answer, is where to park the truck during hometime. I live in the suburbs of Boston, so there’s not many places for a semi. Schneider has a yard in Worcester, so that could work. Swift’s closest yard appears to be in upstate New York. Does that mean I’d have to drive my car 4 hours and back? If any of you could chime in, it’d be great. Thanks and stay safe!
