GED or HSD? What were YOU told?

Hello! I was just writing in to ask some of you what you're experience has been with CRST and CR England. Have you gotten misinformation?

SO heres the gist of the situation. I signed my husband up for this site a few weeks ago and got a call from a recruiter who said he was with CRST. (yay!) Well my husband wasnt here so i asked some questions and got some basic answers and i was told they would go over everything at a later phone call. (Tuesday the 26th of may) I asked the man i think his name was adam, if a GED or HSD was required. He said My husband must have one or the other. I told him my husband has a High school equivalency, also called a certificate of completion. He said that should work just fine but he would look into it for us by the time he called my husband back for his interview. Ok cool.

I also asked about DL requirements as we live in one state (temporary) but we have DL from CA. I asked him if that would be an issue. He said there might be an issue but that my husband could just transfer his DL to Nevada or go to a school in CA as long as it was within 1 hour of his "team pickup location"

Fast forward to the second call.... He talks to my husband for nearly an hour about EVERYTHING. He told him after researching it further the equivalency would not work do to restriction on employment and placement. He said that my husband would need to complete a HSD/GED before he could be given a CDL through any of their sponsored schools. He also informed us that he would only be able to go to a school in the home-state that he had his DL in. Because getting a new Lic in any other state would restart the required 3 yrs clean driving record? He also said that doing cross state schooling wasn't allowed because there are different requirements in each state.

Again fast forward to today! My dad calls me to inform me that someone is lying! He told me that he called several googled trucking schools one of them being crst and cr england and i think he said prime inc as well. They all told him TOTALLY the opposite of what we were told? They told him No ged or hsd was ever required!? Not only that but apparently you can go to school anywhere at anytime no matter what state lic you have? You just have to ask for home time in the state you're currently in? So whats the deal? Has anyone else been told these things? I really need to know. Either im crazy or unintentionally spouting bias from some idiot who didnt know what he was talking about?

On a side note back in 2016 i had applied through CR england and was told that i would have to travel to Iowa to go to school. I was told if i lied on my app at all then i would be removed from the program and would not have a return fare paid to get home. The lady at the time had asked me if i had a HSD/GED. I told her NO. She then asked if i would be willing to get one. I said yes. She told me that i must have one before i graduated because they would not give me a return ticket as it would also be a failure to complete the program requirements. Essentially i would be stranded a long way from my then home of PA. On top of that i was told my home time would only be granted in CA as thats where my DL was issued. These "lies" are either common or intentional... Why am i getting several stories that match but my dad is being told the opposite during initial phone calls?
