Changing jobs I have question.

Jake, Exactly this Dr. who is a Chiropractor used the point system on me. He stated to me the following. 1) Age: 40-50 2) Neck diameter: Thick neck was very athletic in HS with sports & weightlifting. 3) Type 2 diabetic: with a very stable A1C which I showed him my medical records/lab results, diabetic eye exam results. 4) The fact that I take B/P medication even though my reading was good.

This dude is in it for a pocket lining I’m sure...!! Now when I told the company that I wasn’t going to their sleep study clinic that I had my personal Dr set me up with a referral to a private clinic well let’s just say they came up for air and threw every curveball they could to try and persuade me to go to there clinic. I’ve been told by a very good friend who is in the medical field that these companies have a lower set number/s that they can go off of, but an actual private clinic will still read federal guidelined numbers which are a higher more passable reading/study.

If anyone is questioning sleep studies then do your homework!!!! 97% of studies performed are found that YOU have some sort of air blockage restricting your air way which causes disruption in sleep. Why do you think the Federal Government really doesn’t want to get involved with this stuff....It’s because there will soon be a major lawsuit going against all of it. Wait and see. But in the long run the Federal government won’t force the issue but WILL once a Licensed Sleep Study Dr has made a legal paper stating that you have a breathing issue while “Asleep”...!

Get out of here...!

Changing jobs I have question.

Rob T. When it comes to being asked if I’ve ever been issued a card for less than 2 yrs on the long form it’s simple I just say yes my first card because it’s actually for a year due to I’m type 2 diabetic. So I wouldn’t technically be lying.

Changing jobs I have question.

PJ, Thanks for your reply and I thought that I was the responsible for getting info to my State. Yes I’m new to driving but I’m not young and naive. Yes quite sure about being able to be insured due to we already checked on that. As far as the two differences with physicals...well the second Dr basically based his decision off of my neck measurement!! I know he was a Chiropractor but I think he’s very ODD to say the least. Later I was told by many other same company drivers that 80% of employees that are seen by him have to go for sleep studies.

Changing jobs I have question.

Ok so here goes. So I got my CDL-A back in July and had my physical done in my state where I attended school. When I had physical there were no restrictions. Started with Mega carrier 2-weeks later(orientation). This company isn’t in my state and for whatever reason I had new physical by a Dr. they use and he recommended a sleep study and issued a 3 month medical paper. My State BMV still has my original Medical form listed on my record of State BMV site, I haven’t reported/turned in out of State medical form to my State BMV nor has the company that I’m currently driving for. I’m leaving the Mega carrier here in two weeks to go work for a smaller more local company back in my home state. This job change is also being done before I’m to have the sleep study done. So my questions are as follows:

1) Was or is the second medical form to be turned in or over to my State BMV or is the Mega Carrier waiting on sleep study results and updated physical after sleep study? 2) Who is responsible for reporting medical form to State BMV? 3) Since I’m leaving/changing jobs and going back to home State/local job do or can I just fall back to original/1st medical form which is what is actually on my license/record with my State BMV?

Type 2 Diabetes

Thinking about attending a CDL school. I take oral medication only and just had my blood labs drawn 06/18/20 and my a1c is 6.8 So my question or questions are: 1) Does the dot physician/physical test for sugar in blood or urine? 2) Do I even have to tell the physician that I take oral medication. 3) I’ve read on this forum where I should take my latest results with me to the school to give to the physician.

I have never been to an Endocrinologist what so ever, but I’ve also read on here that they will want a medical release from an Endocrinologist or possibly even my personal Dr.

Any suggestions from you all would be a huge help before I leave my Fulltime job now to try an become a commercial driver.

Thanks all and stay safe...!
