Bringing my husband home

Thank you. Just THANK YOU.

My husband was a driver for about 30 years. He moved oilfield equipment and bulk materials and sometimes milk and juice. He loved to drive.

Earlier this week, he passed away in his sleep. We had no idea. I knew he hadn't called me which is unusual so I began to look for him. He told me he was on his way to NJ. His dispatch team confirmed he was in NJ at a Pilot truckstop. But it took me - his nagging wife - to get the dispatcher to truly check on him. A NJ trooper confirmed that my sweet husband had died in his sleeper - most likely the way he would have wanted it.

I praise God above that he wasn't driving. I'm THANKFUL he just went to sleep and didn't wake up. I'm incredibly thankful for Trucker's Last Mile since this wonderful organization paid for the expenses to get my precious John back to Texas.

Thank you, Trucker's Last Mile. John's family will not forget this; we plan to forgo the acceptance of flowers - we're telling everyone to donate to Trucker's Last Mile in John's name.

Thank you. Cheryl Robinson Fort Worth, Texas
