Katie's Bio

I’m looking into changing careers and have considered trucking for a long time. When my current contract is up I plan on applying to all the companies that have a school and will allow me to eventually bring my cat with me.

Cat care during school and training

Thanks for the video. It covered everything I needed. The litter sounds better than the stuff he’s currently using.

That is acceptable... But keep in mind boarding facilities won't keep them that long so you need friends or family to help out. I made a video about pets... I had a car with me for four years OTR. He passed in January.

I’m sorry about your cat! Their lives are much too short no matter how long we have them.

I should’ve clarified - I won’t be boarding him with a facility. But I will need to find a private home for him until I can bring him with me.

Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out. :)

Cat care during school and training

I’m looking to change careers. I’ve wanted to go into trucking for many years so when my current contract is up I’ll apply to companies that offer cdl school. This site has been a wealth of information especially the “search by tags”!

I have a cat so the company I work for also needs to permits cats. Is it reasonable to expect to bring him OTR as soon as my training is over (I’m figuring 3 but perhaps 4, months) or should I be looking for longer care for him (6-12 months) instead?

My parents might be willing to care for him but they have an energetic 100+lb dog who my cat has firmly declared the enemy so I need to have a back-up care plan in case it doesn’t work out.

Thanks so much, Katie
