Companies that accept Felony applicants

Thanks a ton, I'll check into them. Going to work on getting the record expunged but that could take up to a year.

A few other training companies you could look into are:

Witte Bros.

Raider Express

Pride Transport

Dutch Maid Logistics

CFI / TFI

It's always worth a try &/or a phone call!! If I think of more, I'll share. I know Mast trucking here in Ohio would be a good bet also, but doubt they hire out your way.

Companies that accept Felony applicants

Some of the smaller market companies will hire people with felony convictions. Just depends on the situation. I took my CDL training and about 2/3 of the class was comprised of people with felony records. The school was very good about helping them find work. Many of my classmates are now driving.

Hey guys, so I heard back from Prime and they want felonies to be 10 years out and mine is only 2. I'm sitting here frustrated as hell, I made a stupid mistake 2 years ago which was not indicative of me at all and I'm trying to move on. Are there any companies that would hire me? If I have to I'll just pay out of pocket to get my license here in Ca. Thanks for any help!

Thanks man I really appreciate it, when I get some cash saved up I am going to have it expunged. I talked to a local school and was told there are tons of smaller companies hiring in my area so that seems to be good news. I live in central Ca. so quite a bit of ag stuff. I'm going to have to pay out of pocket unfortunately since I haven't found a paid CDL company yet, I'll keep looking though, not going to give up on this.

Medications

I have tried using the quick apply button but it says I have one on file, which is from over a year ago. Been trying to contact Simeone to fix it it but haven't heard back.

Hey thanks for the info. That worries me because I don't want them to reject me because of medications. I'd love to work for prime, I'm just trying to find anyone that will take me. I've been studying for my permit for a week now so gonna keep going that route and start applying.

Howdy, John A. !!!

You came back, haha! Did you get your record cleared up/expunged, or what not, over in Cali ? You never let us know.

That felony bribe might end up being the reason that Prime would hesitate going forward with your application, but not necessarily. In case you've not done so, follow up with the following links, and use our quick apply button to see who else is willing to work with you! Always be TRUTHFUL and 100% HONEST, on your CDLA (and all) apps; whomever you end up deciding on going with. And medication nonwithstanding, they WILL find out your background, even if it's after you've arrived at orientation. It's a long way home, when the bus ride is on you.

Those medications, with prescriptions and reasons for your needs, and documented by your physician, may in fact 'BE' okay with some companies. Let them know AHEAD of time!

Read George B.'s post about exactly this, on another thread, re: JB Hunt. Don't jump the horse with the cart still attached, yet don't let go of the reins, either.

Hope this helps, good sir. Chin up, move forward! Kearsey won't steer you wrong; Truckin' Along w/Kearsey!

ps: Best wishes; let us know!

LOL yeah that felony scared me off but I read more into it and I did not commit one of the offenses that would stop me from getting a license. Yeah prime might not take me but at this point I'm willing to go with anyone just to be licensed and have a career driving.

Medications

Hello, I am looking to get into a paid CDL training program, haven't applied yet as I have been studying for a permit last few weeks ugh! I was wondering what medications are a nono. I take Ritalin for a adhd and sometimes Gabapentin (Neurontin) for restless leg syndrome. I can just wean myself off both if they will be an obstacle. I'm in California, I looked into Prime but they require you to have a permit before attending their classes, are there any out of state that don't have that requirement? Thanks!

Felony Conviction

Hello all, I was convicted of California penal code 68, acceptance of a bribe by a public employee. I noticed on the internet that bribery would be the case to bar me from obtaining a CDL, is this true?
