Retired police officer from Ca. Relocated to Ga. I was looking for a second career that will give me some new experiences in life. I have 4 amazing daughters and 7 grandkids. A lot of my friends were truck drivers and loved the job, except being away from the family. I figured I would give it a shot and see what happens. I have learned alot about myself, the industry and life in general. I love my new career. My email is pat.jerrold@gmail.com

Dang Bruce, I don’t miss that. Thankfully you knew what to do to prevent a really bad situation. I try and usually am successful staying in the south.

Yup I agree only you influenced that score and something to be proud of. You made me think about it so I looked at mine today.
It was better than I expected at 85. Said I was down from 87 last week. I do wear steel toe boots while driving. I’m sure that adds to my lead foot, when safe.

OS it was within Ga. At 12’6” wide it required the warning lights OR escort. That was part of the reason I mounted the lightbar. Suprised me the permit was only 31.00.
One of my customers bought a used 55 ton 3 axle for me to pull his stuff. His are only normally 10’ wide. I figured this was good practice under skilled supervision. So many things can happen or go really wrong pulling a RGN trailer with how low they set and turn.
My first solo adventure will be coming up with a 70k mausiloum to key west Fl.

News this morning reported it as a Singapore flagged ship.
I saw the same thing in video Brett did. I also read an article last week from Colorado about ELD’s that are vunerable to attacks. Makes me wonder if that happened with this ship.

I was really nervous. They loaded it with 2 very large forlifts picking it up, then I backed under it. Took a couple trys to get it where we wanted it for balance.
Motorists made me more neverous than what I had to do. Of course went through metro areas east of Atlanta on I20 at rush hour.
I had a friend with me that has done this stuff along time. He was teaching and coaching me through it.
I spent my weekend mounting a lightbar on the truck. That was fun, lol. I thought I gave up driving vehicles with those things years ago!!

OS that is pretty cool. I’ve had sea gulls flocking around a couple times. Not unusual in coastal areas.
I never heard of wild parrott’s before.

I single-handedly ruined my life trying to transition into trucking
I agree with all said so far. Your bottom line is “time to grow up”.
We’ve all been there, everything in this life is a choice. You can learn from past mistakes and move foward making better choices OR you can continue blaming others for your problems and keep repeating those mistakes.
Your young and God willing have your entire life ahead of you.
Suck it up and do what you need to at WE and you can set yourself up for a good career. You didn’t say which division your in, but starting out flatbed may not be a good choice. The van division may work better for now. They are a low paying second chance company, but your success there will pay off big in the ling run.
All of us here will always listen and help where we can.
