truck driers picture of a buffalo walking in the road at Yellowstone

Gotcha!!!!smile.gif

Had to deliver a working Gradall into Yellowstone National Park and pick up a broken one. This young man was holding up traffic and did not have a care in the world.

A few years ago my 25 yr old daughter and I were driving thru Yelllowstone in the right lane, on a paved road, in my car. There were about 15 bison approaching us in the other lane. I, in the driver's seat had my window down. When they were about 25 feet away, one veered off and walked straight at me. My daughter yelled, "roll up your window", which I immediately did. After a couple more feet, the bison turned and walked straight down the road with his/her buddies. My daughter, who was recording a video with her smartphone, and had started laughing questioned: "What was that you said about keeping our windows up in the park"? She also said, "It could smell you".

Kinda funny, and she was right. This past week, she transferred to Belmont Univ, Nashville TN, to get her Masters in Occupational Therapy. Smart lady. Very smart. I'm proud of her.

It was not as bad as the last time I had been in the park but 5 miles up the road the cars were clogging it again. What were they looking at? Freaking Canada Geese about 20 feet off the road!wtf-2.gif

You should have honked the horn

Totally kidding, bad bad bad idea with buffalo and moose.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Robert B. I know you were joking and said it's a bad idea to honk horn. I wonder what the law is in such as Yellowstone, a Federal Park- I would think very severe.

oh how i hate those geese... they poop everywhere, very annoying and they get mean when babies are around. My Americorps campus (aka base of ops) was located at a VA medical center in MD, because it was a huge chunk of federal property hunting was illegal (except during very rare times when they allowed it to thin the herds). had lots and lots of deer and geese. it was a hunter's paradise had it not been illegal. I remember in the summer or fall there were a bunch of baby geese and if i got near them (like within 30 feet) the parents would come running over and start hissing... if i didn't leave they would chase me... i'd chase em back i'm not afraid of them... tried to catch one (of the adults) but failed... those things can run fast... and fly.
