So today was my CDL test day, felt so confident. I only got 2 points on my Pre-trial and got 1 point on my backing because I used and extra pull up on my alley dock. We get to the road test, about halfway through its going pretty great,I go to make a right turn and out of nowhere this car comes flying out of nowhere and cuts off my extra space after I've already committed to the turn and forced me to cut it short and my trailer tires grazed the curb. Ahhhhhh I just wanna scream!!!!! I realized now I should've just stopped right there, but my brain was so racked from nerves it didn't register. Hopefully I'll get to retest tomorrow not real sure though.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Congrats on the first two... You made it past the toughest I think anyways.... Just relax and drive that truck.. Talking helps calm the nerves try talking to the DOT they like that lol... Just stay calm you will get it

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

When I took mine, I talked from the time we pulled out of the lot, till I was told by the tester, please shut up, you are breaking my concentration, and I can't score you or make notes. Good luck. You can drive, you just have to prove it to them.
