I think you missed Errol's reply above where he posted that the driver paid for other people's meals also.

I think I did. embarrassed.gif

Am I the only one who considered the possibility that he was trying to get her to come by his truck and "say hi" after her shift?

The waitress was Kari Anthony. I have posted a pic of her and her kids above. You can also find her on Twitter.

He paid for other people's meals also. So he must have been wanting to have a party if that's the case...

Or he was just trying to show off and make her think, "oh what a sweet, generous and wealthy man!"

Come on guys, this is classic idiotic male strategy right here! He's a pea**** strutting around with his feathers all spread out, except his feathers are dollar bills.

Of course I could be wrong, and I'm probably rashly judging this guy. Most likely he had nothing but noble I intentions. Just thought I'd float the possibility though.

As someone who was raised by a waitress, it is a stressful, demanding job. I'm happy for her and the kids. The money will help to give her a little break even for a short time. God bless him for a selfless act. I would like to think the best of people in this world before jumping to conclusions.

I'm not an "owner-operator," and I have money in the bank. If I don't spend it, I have to declare my checking account balance on the 1040T (for truck driver), after which, the government just takes it.

Dave

If you're an owner operator and have money in the bank you're doing it wrong.

Owner Operator:

An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

Larry points out a fiscal fact:

If you're an owner operator and have money in the bank you're doing it wrong.

Actually, O-O's can make money, but it's a long row to hoe.
