I've read the article on what should be taken when joining a trainer on the road but I am wondering on what size of a bag or bags should I take. Thanks for any advice.

You have to fit your stuff in something the size of a kitchen cabinet and maybe a little room under the bunk... Pack light and only what you need for training to get you through till you get home with your own truck... Search for Daniel b light weight truck and probably half that space would be yours...

Thank you Scott

Did you get a list of stuff to pack.... Just follow that list... I used 3 of those reusable Walmart bags.. You don't want to take a lot cuz might not have enough room....

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

The grey dog charges for extra bags, and over 50 pounds,so,my checked bag weighed 48 pounds. Buy stuff once you get rolling, and use multiple small bags, rather than one heavy huge bag. Its easier to organize with multiple bags. One for clean clothing, one for laundry,a shower bag etc.
