Im fresh outta school, I applied to a local company sunday, had my interview wednesday and today I do my road test with them. I start monday if all goes well today. That I believe was fast. I guess depends on the company.
Now is the best time to get started because we're in the busy season. Things tend to slow down dramatically after the Holidays. If there are no LTL jobs available then go with the next best option. After getting a little experience those jobs will open up to you.

I have not found anything local yet to try and do LTL so now I am considering applying for a regional run where I am home if not every week at least every other week.
What I am wondering is with the holidays approaching is it possible to apply now but not start until right after the holidays, meaning Christmas? Or should I wait until the beginning of December. I just wasn't sure how long the process takes from the time you apply until the time they tell you to report for orientation. I am not going to stop looking for LTL though.
