Was the test hard or easy. Did you have to parallel park and can you recommend any schools. What testing center is the easiest in new Jersey.
Welcome Andrew.
Perhaps the best place to start is to read Brett's Book and review the Truck Driver's Career Guide.
Trucking Truth has something called the High Road Training Program to help you study and pass your CDL permit test.
Truck Driving Schools and Company-Sponsored Training are two links listing numerous options for schooling. How To Choose A School will help you make your selection. Good luck and let us know how else we can assist you.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Andrew, I don't know about most testing sites, but between Lodi and Wayne, Wayne is the best. Their examiners are very "laid back". They go out of their way to make you feel relaxed. In Lodi, their "looks" make you feel so intimidated.....lol. Nevertheless, if you have trained well, it doesn't really matter where you test. One more thing. Some will only test you on the 45 deg. alley dock and others the 90 deg, if nothing has changed since l tested. All the best!!
I do not remember anything about parallel parking during the test. Starts with the (1) Pre-trip, (2) alley dock, straight backing and right turn and if you pass all those then (3) on the road.
