Can anyone tell me trucking hours how many hoursdriving how many down time
Open the High Road Training Program. You can go directly to the "Logbook" section (page 92). It's all explained there.
The very simple version is you may drive up to 11 hours per day. Daily, after the 11, you must have a 10 hour break before you may drive again.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.

Apparently it can be more complicated though... stupid FMCSA book (I call it the trucker's bible) explains it in one of the most complicated ways possible but i'm not even gonna try to explain it. Stick to 14 hours total on duty with 11 max of those driving and then 10 hours off duty (you can do 8 hours sleeper birth, 2 off duty or 9 sleeper 1 off duty or all 10 sleeper or all 10 off duty if you so choose to stay somewhere not in the truck like a hotel).

The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
