Call me negative if you want, but I think there's a greater chance of the existence of the Easter Bunny than there is of Santa. Do people really believe a big, fat guy goes down chimneys with the presents and comes out clean, then eats left over cookies with milk that's been sitting there for hours.
Santa is the world's distraction to keep everyone's focus off the true reason for the season - it's in the name.
Sorry, I just don't understand this whole Santa thing.
Party pooper!
Do you think the North American Aerospace Defense Command (a command in the USAF) would chase after foolishness?

yeah that really depends on each person whom is celebrating the holiday, those of us who are not religious do not celebrate the fake birth date of Jesus. You show me some proof that Jesus was born on Dec 25th and I'll give you my bridge in Brooklyn (not even gonna try to sell it to ya).
Truth be told most of the things we do on christmas have nothing to do with christ, the christmas tree, mistletoe, carols, the christmas dinner... all pagan stuff, christians liked the idea of what the pagans were doing but didn't want to be apart of it so they added their own twist.
Long story short: The original celebration is not a christian celebration.
Most people don't even celebrate it for either cause... it's all about the sins... greed, gluttney... I mean seriously nowa days everyone is worried about getting the "right" gift for someone... does it matter... they got a gift, if they don't like it, fine I won't give them ANYTHING next year, at least I took the time and possibly money to think about them... did you buy any gifts for the homeless population or the familes that can't afford gifts? nope... but I bet you're expecting gifts. just some food for thought.
There's a reason I don't like Christmas much. Ticks me off for the above reasons. You sir don't need that 50" plasma tv or brand new ps4... how about that homeless person on the street corner who has little to no food and has to sleep outside... he doesn't need it either but he needs SOMETHING a lot more than you do.
ok I gotta stop or i'm gonna turn into a runaway train... or more in theme with this website a truck with no brakes going down a steep mountain grade.... with no runaway truck ramps.
I hope everyone has a good holiday.

Why do you want to bring up religion? Just have some fun. (OK I won't get you a 50" TV or even a 20 incher for your truck.)
BTW Jesus was not born in December, more likely in the late spring. So you can keep your bridge!
By the way, Errol, I'm still expecting a present from you..

Actually that was daniel b who brought religion into it...

Those last 4 words, basically saying Christ is the true reason for the season.
I'm a party pooper towards Christmas because of all the greed and commercialism... I wasn't always like this but years upon years of greed and not giving 2 ****s about those in need has turned me into a Grinch. I understand not everyone is like that and when I see or hear about those giving back it makes me happy but when I turn on the tv, drive to school or do anything pretty much except sit in some dark hole under a rock and hear and see nothing but spend spend spend gifts gifts gifts it upsets me. Then add in the forcing religion onto others weather they like it or not to any measure small or large that also bothers me. If you want to be religious and celebrate the holiday, fine that's great but don't try and make someone else celebrate it for the same reason or say they should be, keep it to yourself and I won't bother you about it :)
**that last paragraph, whenever I said "you" it was not aimed at any specific person, just a generalized term.
Also I still give and receive gifts, I just don't make it a centralized point of christmas. Think of it like a book, gifts are neither the title or even a single chapter, they are pages of a chapter for me. While it won't be on christmas, I'll be volunteering my time at Meals on Wheels this coming Wed, volunteering is a big part of my life that will sadly be squeezed into a small box for a little while when I start trucking, just something I have to be flexible to.
Looking back on 44 years of life I can say I've been truly blessed every moment of the way. I've always been healthy, I was gifted in many ways, and I had the greatest parents on Earth. A truly blessed life.
And of all the wonderful things I've had in my life I can honestly say the greatest, purest joy I can ever remember is seeing that gigantic pile of gifts under the Christmas tree with those lights shining as bright as the Heavens. We used to get up about 3:00 a.m. to open gifts. Santa usually came around 1:00 - 2:00 a.m.
We'd run toward the family room and long before you got there you could see the glow from the tree lights and you knew Santa had come!!!! We'd round the corner into the family room and the sight of that tree lit up with all those presents nearly made us pass out with joy! It was just unimaginable.
Christmas for us was about all the things it should be about - bringing together family, eating way too much wonderful food, and bringing unparalleled joy to little kids. It's a shame Christmas doesn't bring that kind of joy to everyone. You can do the 'glass half empty' thing with anything in life if you want to. I just don't know why you'd want to.
Oh...........forgot something.......
I can remember the first time I ever saw the Santa Tracker on Norad. I was at my sister's house and my niece and nephew were very young at the time. We watched Santa circling the globe and I had them trying to figure out when he would arrive. As the night went on we'd keep a close watch because the kids knew he might fly right on by if they weren't in bed in time. So you had to be vigilant!
And of course that also meant leaving the cookies and milk out so Santa could complete his trip. And make sure the dog couldn't get em!
I still love the Santa Tracker. I think it's the most delightful thing, right after the television stations that show a yule log with Christmas Carols playing. Even though I have a wood stove I still like putting on the yule log. In fact, I have it on right now!

Keep track of Santa as he delivers gifts around the world. NORAD has been tracking Santa Clause each Christmas for 60 years. That's almost as old as I am!
