Since you have to pass the vision test with both eyes, I DOUBT YOU CAN PASS THE dot physical. I HAVE AN ODD EYE, AND TO PASS, i have to go to my eye doc and have him fill out the eye part.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

They require you to have 20/40 vision in each eye, and that can include lenses or glasses. They would do your standard eye test one eye at a time. If you can cover one eye and see 20/40 with the other I would think you'd be fine to drive.

You can call any doctor or hospital that gives DOT physicals for advice. You can also actually get a DOT physical if you wanted to be absolutely certain. They're short and inexpensive.

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
