I'm gathering that you passed your permit exams.. congratulations.
I passed my written (all 4 sections b/c I took the tanker endorsement) on my first try. So did all 5 other students at my school that I've been with. And that's just studying out of the manual and having my husband quiz me. So it can't be all that unusual.
And Congrats on passing! BEST of luck in school! Don't be afraid to ask every question you can possibly think of, it will come in handy someday!
Are you going to school through a company-sponsored training or private school?
A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
I'm gathering that you passed your permit exams.. congratulations.
That's what I was thinking as well...lol
You passed your permit test at the DMV , you mean? if you're on your way to "tucking school", you can't have your CDL already..?
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

Thx, yes I passed my written CDL. I'm mechanically challenged, so I'm still surprised. I wasn't expecting to take the exams before I went to trucking school.

I'm glad a have a few less things to worry about at school now.

I had to pass my DOT physical & the written CDL before I leave & go to trucking school.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
You passed your PERMIT written exam, not your CDL. if you had "passed your CDL", you wouldn't be on your way to trucking school, you'd be on your way to orientation and training, to work for a specific company. :)

After a lot of blood, sweat & tears (all mine), I passed my CDL after nonstop studying!!! The CDL testing on Trucking Truth helped me out so much!!! I wasn't expecting to take my written CDL before I got to trucking school. It blew me outta the water, to say the least. But now, I'm glad it's behind me. I also have already passed my DOT physical.
The guy at DDS looked surprised I passed on my first attempt. He said most people don't pass their first time. Is this true?
My recruiter said the same thing. He said that's the #1 reason he doesn't hear back from people. A failed CDL.
I leave for Indiana on Sun. Trucking school starts Mon for 3 weeks. I'm ready for my next challenge. I wanted to update everyone on how my trucking journey is going. I appreciate any good vibes, thanks
