I passed my HazMat background check as well. I was told that the State MVD was notified, in my case Arizona, and that the endorsement will show up on my hard copy license, after I pass the driving/pretrip portion of the testing. Hope that helps
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
If you're not already a fully licensed CDL-A, you can't have a hazmat on a learners permit.
In florida, they won't even let you do the BG check or take the written, until you have a full CDL.
I got my TWIC card before that, so my BG went through real fast.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Oh, thank you!!! I don't have to waste my time at the always crowded GA DDS office.

In Arizona you can test for all endorsements at once. I took all of the tests except Passenger and School Bus. I wouldn't drive a School Bus WITHOUT kids in it!
ProudArmy, I am also in GA. I Had my prints done about 3 days before I took my endorsement tests. I did have my cdl , but there was no way my bg check was processed. Somehow, I went in and was able to get all my endorsements on my license prior to being cleared. Maybe a typo or easy going clerks? Not sure but I got my hard copy and my endorsements are there.

Phil:
I actually went by DDS w/my letter today. They said if I'm in the system, I can test for Hazmat.
Tuesday is their busiest day since they're closed on Mon. I went home & did my application online & printed it out. I'll be ahead w/that when I go back. I am going either Wed or Thur when it's not such a circus.
Thanks.

I'm very confused. I received my letter from TSA that my background check has passed. It also says that TSA will notify licensing state that I may obtain or renew my HME.
Is there a waiting period for this notification? The GA DDS website is about as clear as mud for anything CDL related.
I showed up a few weeks ago to take all my endorsement tests. I could only take Tankers, which I passed.
I wanted to take Hazmat before I start trucking school on Monday. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
