We all have those days Rainy, you just get through it, don't let it get under your skin and kick it's butt on the next one. It's funny you brought this up because the line I just backed into was mirror to mirror tight. I'd never want to hit anything anyway but when the truck on your blind side is the guy who signs your paychecks, it adds a little more stress lol.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Rainy, there is a bottom line. You must learn this stuff so you can do things with your trailer.

There's the idea that you should imagine where the trailer will be after it moves 10 feet. I kind of forced myself to see that, and it was hard to do. I still hate some of the backing I have to do.

But you know what? Ever so slowly I've come to really see that extra 10 feet and backing isn't so bad now.

I know you're just venting your frustration. Learning to back trailers was one of the most frustrating things I have had to learn. But I got over it. You will too. And a year later, you can still take advantage of any straight pull-through you see.

Thanks. It's just that 2 nights in a row I got put in doors with trucks in both sides without swing room in front. Might be enough room for experienced driver..but not me. Tonight got to the point where the guys made fun of me and I told them to remember that b4 they were super truckers they were newbies. I also reminded them that I could just as easily block them From. Leaving the same way I blocked them from coming in lol. Kiss my jerzee butt they can lol

The luck of the draw as far as "two nights in a row", too.

Also, one day you can do an alley dock good enough for an instruction video, and the next day - in the same lot - you back up like a new student.

Backing comes with experience... 4 years ago, I couldnt hit a deer if it was standing right behind my trailer... Now, I can put a trailer in any spot.. I still have my bad days... Once or twice a week i'll try an do the same back up I do every day and be like WTF i know i can do this....... its worse when its on a public street and you got cars waiting....

Take your time and make sure you set up as best as possible... and forget about what anyone says... As you said, they started where your at, at one point.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
