It's expensive! Went to Wally World to simply get a "toiletry bag" ended up spending over $100. Got an empty bag, disposable razors (cheapies), travel size hand sanitizer, toothbrush case, toothpaste, body wash, loofah, soap, shave cream, 3 towels, some socks, hair gel, nail clippers.

I splurged on a blue tooth headset (marked $30, but on Wal-Mart.com for $15.98...price matched!) and a cheap $15 watch.

Thankfully my wife got some "laundry pods" a few weeks ago...premeasured detergent packs you just toss in. Nifty.

Spent another few bucks on a tactical duffle bag @ an Army/Navy outlet...it's awesome. Made of canvas, waterproof bottom & zips open along the side... has optional backpack straps for carrying.

I'm not even on the road yet & going broke. Haha.

Ready to see some $$$ rolling in so I can blow more dough on a 12v fridge & CB when I upgrade. Gotta get that XM subscription too, LOL...still need to snag a 12v phone charger.

I have a few $10 rolls of quarters saved up for laundry...Who knew being a trucker was so expensive?

Hell yeah. Who's got time to wash a rag every shower? Rinse the loofah off, shake it out & repeat...plus the lather. Rags can't compete.

Fact: Real men use Loofah's.

LOL! I personally can't stand shaving. My upper lip has only come in contact with direct sunlight maybe three or four times in my entire life. Heck, I've had a full beard since I was 14 years old. LOL!

Charlie, you're ready to roll! (Don't tell anybody, but I use a "pouf" ball - $2 at WM pour le shower.)

Got your gloves? Handy tool: Vice Grips™. BTW, many truck stop laundries accept credit/ debit cards now.

Save your Truck Stop loyalty points. It took a year, but I recently got my toys: CB, BT headset and drive cam. No money out of my pocket!

I hadn't worn a watch for a few years but I got one before going out too! It's one of the best things to have out here since it doesn't change time zones like your phone does.

Something to take note of (with regards to TIME ZONES). Your LOGS (E-Log or Paper) operate on the time zome of your HOME TERMINAL - but pickup/delivery appointments run on the time zone of the destination.

Something to consider when trip planning - especially if you run your clocks tight.

I run an iWatch - so it changes time zones when the phone switches.

Rick

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I was warned in logging class about this very thing. Made sure to get a watch with multiple time-zone settings. 1 for hometime, and another for terminal time.

My phone (should) change based off of location.

Quick question...does the qualcom run on home terminal time or location?
