I use mine. I have an iPhone so I can just flip on the hotspot and my laptop automatically connects. I hate the idea of paying for wifi at a truck stop and I have always heard that the service is terrible.
Thanks chickiemonster, you helped me out again! Thank you!
Unlimited data for 45 a month? That sounds great.
Yep, straight talk is at Walmart and uses verizon and att towers it is 45 dollars A month card up to 130 A month for 3 months. Just buy a card once a month or every 3 months type in number on back and you are good to go. I have been everywhere and never dropped a call. They have all kind of phones and you can even use your own phone if it's unlocked from the carrier or yo u don't have a contract with anyone

5 gigs at 4g for $45. 10 gigs for $55 with Straight Talk. Then they will throttle you to almost unusable speeds. I never go over my 5 gigs with my usage patterns.
Metro PCS (t-mobiles prepaid carrier) has $60 unlimited 4g (I typically use 22-25GB cause I watch a lot if Netflix on my 5.7" mobile)...that includes up to 8GB of Wi-Fi tether per month. If you want, you can add more tethering data @ $5 p/GB over the initial "free" 8.
Thanks for the ideas I really appreciate them very much! I hope I'll be doing more load hauling than watching internet. But first I have to get through schneider orientation and the driving before I can worry about anything else.
I have truly unlimited with Tmobile... for $50 per month but some truck stops can block my data to intimidate me to buy theirs... and theirs sucks!!!
I do use it as a hot spot for the laptop but streaming movies can sometimes be slow. If it wasn't so cheap I'd use someone else. Version quoted me $700 per month for the same amount of data I use for 50 wtf...
That walmart one is sounding pretty good right now
It has worked for me for over four years. It's only 45 dollars for unlimited talk text and data and I just plug phone into laptop and it works great. I just plugged it in today and turned off my wifi at house and used mobile data connection and have been watching Netflix. It gives out 4glte for certain time then 3g at end of month but it is working fine.

Anyone here use there phone as a wifi hotspot for their laptop computer while their on the road? I have heard that wifi is pretty bad at all the truckstops. Any help with this would be appreciated! I'm thinking of rooting my phone to use it as a hotspot since I use straight talk and I buy the 45 dollar unlimited talk text and data plan.
