We have today off. Start Road Training tomorrow (Monday). 6 out of 7 passed our Skills Evaluation and will move forward. One classmate will have to repeat week 2. We were all pulling for him. I think he'll make it. This is NOT a cakewalk by any means. I knew this woud be tough. I can say that it is one of the biggest challenges I have faced in my lifetime, and there have been a few. Fortunately, I thrive on challenges and failure is NEVER an option for me. Yes, I have had failures in my life, we all have, but I have always given it my all. For anyone out there considering a Truck Driving Career, a bit of advice.Immerse yourself in class every hour of every day. Pay attention, Follow Instructions, if you do not understand the instructions, ASK QUESTIONS. STUDY, let me repeat that, STUDY! Go to bed early and get your rest, you will need it. Do not be the guy that stays up until midnight and jumps out of bed just in time to catch the bus. The information up here comes FAST, and every day builds on the prior day. Familiarize yourself with ALL of the components on your Pre Trip Inspection before you get to School. Although every school may teach different verbiage, it is all the same. It is like a prepared speech, or lines for an actor, you MUST KNOW YOUR LINES!

Thanks again TT'ers, I will report back as the week rolls on.smile.gif

Glad things are going well for you. Great advice, and it is so true, we have one in our class that is struggling because he does not study, or pay attention and just acts like he can squeak by. There is so much information in such a short time. For those that are getting ready to go to cdl school, take Tractor Man's advice to heart.

Yep, keep your nose to the grind stone! I'm in a great class. Everyone is here to succeed. Also I'm the old man in class, and with the help of this great site, a bit more knowable. The other students jokingly tease, that I've been here before. Or I'm a company spy checking who to hire. They are about to see how little I know when I start backing! That's when we will start on even skill. I think some have a bit more tractor experience. But keep up the good work T Man.
