Most companies pay EXTRA CPM for NE - because of the increased traffic and difficulty navigating a rig in a metropolitan area.
Since very few in their right mind would actually VOLUNTEER for NYC runs - most companies have gone to "forced dispatch" for these runs. Though as a "company driver" - unless you don't have the hours to legally take a run - EVERYTHING IS FORCED DISPATCH.

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
