I took my driving test today. I passed the pretrip, did good driving, did the offset backing, did the strait line backing, and then really screwed up. I could not do the alley dock today. I just screwed it bad. I will just have to try again.

Hey Daniel, you haven't failed until you give up!

Keep trying! Was it nerves or were you struggling with learning how to set up/do the alley?

It was just nerves. I did it perfect a couple weeks ago. the alley dock was what I practiced the most. I just lost it today. No big deal, I will pass it next time.

You did not fail, you now know what not to do. It is the process of learning. Everyone gets the jitters. Heck I failed my first driving test. Passed all the maneuvering and backing but I just could not get the hang of the 10 speed. I had only ever driven 13 and 18 speeds up to that point.

I failed the backing once and failed the driving twice. I took the test in different trucks and had to get used to the clutch. Guess what....I've been solo three months this week and put 28000 miles on my truck in that time.

Just breathe and think. Good luck k

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I passed the driving test in the tour bus today. Now I just have to pass it in the truck. This is a great school I am going to. The instructor said he would teach school bus if someone would donate one to the program. Imagine leaving school being able to drive everything. I will have everything except school bus when I am done.
