anybody know the process of what happens when you turn in your truck? I'm not leaving my company, I enjoy working here. I'm just curious how the process works. do you just drop it off or do they have to inspect it?

Swift sold my truck while I was still driving it. I brought it in, told my DM who sent a message to the Truck Assignment desk. Went to that office.

I was told to park my "old" truck next to this walkway thing. I got the keys and the number to my "new" truck, and was told to bring it over to the other side of that walkway thing.

The walkway was "truck high" so you don't need to climb up and down all the time. Took about an hour to move my junk.

I inspected my new chariot, turned in the old keys, and pulled out.

Since my old truck was sold, Swift didn't seem to care so much about it.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I put my truck in the shop an my dm told me to look at a different one. I don't think anyone inspected the older truck.

When I turned in my truck at Swift, I removed all my belongings and thoroughly cleaned the interior of the truck. I took a lot of pictures, just in case I ever needed to prove I returned the truck in good condition. I turned in both sets of keys at the dispatch window and got a signed piece of paper saying I'd turned the truck in on such and such day, etc. That was it.
