Congratulations! Which company are you with?
I am with Swift.
Devan, where are you? I'm going to Memphis tomorrow (Sat.)
Heads up: if you have the world famous Driver Cam, watch out for this: if you're driving along and get the buzz strip twice in about 30 seconds, the camera starts recording (the 20 second clip). If you're just driving, no big deal. If you're not paying attention to the road, (Reaching for something, nodding off, looking at your cell phone, etc.) you may have to explain yourself in the office.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
First--congrats Devan!! I love my 16 Cascadia.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but this happened to me once but I don't remember the lights turning red. Aren't they supposed to turn red the camera gets set off?

At my home terminal , Albuquerque. Haven't been to Memphis yet. I was actually thinking about the rumble. Makes sense, if you go off to much, there must be something wrong. Thanks Paul, and yeah the Cascadia is awesome. I trained on the same truck.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Yes, the camera light goes red. If I accidentally "rumble" twice like that, I just start some classical music (a bit loud) and drive like the professional trucker that I am.

Spent the night in the truck after taking the upgrade test, so I think I passed haha. It has been an amazing experience so far and I am excited to start my career as a solo truck driver. Time has really just flown by.
I am in a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia. I trained on an automatic so they kept me in an automatic. I don't mind it, this thing practically drives itself. Going to be waiting for a bit because I have to wait for the guy that does upgrades to finish up with me. Again I don't mind because I was suppose to upgrade in the morning, but didn't show up until the afternoon. Luckily the guy that does upgrades worked a little later for me.
Now I will wait. Once I get that permit book, I know it is official. Ready to put in some miles!
