Into my 4th week and 2nd day for PAM at C1 Trucking School. I was dismissed. I was heartbroken because I thought for sure I had my cdl at state very soon.

I finally got in contact with who could tell me and it's because of an accident I had in Jan. That was I was not ticketed for but paid for their car for failure to yield. I got caught up in some ice in CVS parking lot.

Is there any advice you all might have since I have all this training and pre trip in my head to get my cdl.

I don't think I can afford a school and wondering if you all advise a person to keep on or wait. It was in my car.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Sorry I left out the part I got dismissed 4 weeks 2 days , and I was truthful and told them of the accident upfront. Not sure why that waited till I had all this training.

Yes , very much. Now I have all this training and I'm not sure if anyone will take me and to give up or you all have some advise as what to do?

I am not a driver yet, and I am certain there will be replies from others that can offer better advise than I can. However in my opinion, you should apply to as many companies as possible. Tell them about what happened with Pam and see if any are willing to give you a shot.

Good luck!good-luck.gif

I agree with Michael here. Start spamming those applications out and hope for the best. There are "second chance" companies out there as well. Cr england comes to mind.

Check with your DMV , in NC you can take your CDL test after having your permit for 14 days. All you need is a truck and a CDL holder with you. Good luck

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

Have you looked into Swift or Prime? Pretty good with a second chance. Think one of the higher ups around here (Errol V) knows a little about Swift maybe
