Things were looking pretty rough for my entire class this past weekend. We had everything nailed the weekend before, and it's like we all just forgot everything we learned previously. I remember sitting there in the garage, watching everyone take pull up after pull up. The movie Varsity Blues came to mind. The part where they go to the strip club the night before the football game. When the game came around, they were all hung over and got the crap kicked out of them. That's what this last weekend felt like. Hopefully we can get out of this funk that we were in. Best of luck to all currently attempting their CDLs and drive safe for those already on the road.

I've been trolling this site for a while. I've never commented though. I'm currently halfway through my 8 week course at Miller Motte. I should have my CDLs by August first. I couldn't pay for the school out of pocket, so I decided to go with CT(Comcar) Transportation because they offered to pay for my school. I'm very excited to start. I know that there is not a lot of information on CT out there to find, but if you would like, I can keep everyone posted in case anyone else is considering this company. CT is their flat bed division. I've been entertaining the idea of becoming a truck driver for quite some time.
I'm at the top of my class at driving and shifting. I just got the hang of backing. As soon as it clicked, I was on a roll. My only frustration is the pretrip. I understand that it's important to do before you start driving the truck, but it really is a lot to memorize. I will be so upset if I can drive the truck well, and end up failing my CDL test because I forgot to point out a part on the truck or trailer lol. I know all of the parts, my problem is just remembering what to say when I'm naming them off. I think I'm a little lazy in that department right now, because all I want to do is get inside the truck and drive. lol
I have enjoyed this site for several months now. I am currently a security guard, and I've been stuck at a desk for the last several months. When I'm not dealing with employees, I sit here and read through this site for most of my 8 hour shift. It does help pass the time. Thank you for all of your posts and comments. I realize that I will have to work hard and keep the good attitude up, but I won't have much trouble with that. I want to get out there and see everything that this country has to offer. I've always wanted to travel the country, but I've never had the means. This is my chance for my grand adventure. Also, if there are any locals from Chattanooga, or even anyone who currently works for Comcar or any of it's Subsidiaries, please feel free to shoot me an email (gutter2020@gmail.com. I would love to know exactly what to expect before I head to my orientation. Thank you for your time.
