I'm in the market for a new Garmin. Right now I use the Nuvi 465 which I like but the maps need to be updated and its not worth paying for maps. I might as well buy a new one with lifetime map updates.

Just wondering if anyone know how often Garmin releases a newer version. The 570 is the most currant one, but I would hate to buy it and then have Garmin come out with its newer version

Thanks Mike

If your going to buy a new GPS make sure you buy a truck GPS. Garmin has the dezl, Rand McNally has the TND tablet, those are the only 2 I can think of for now. I personally use the Garmin Dezl 760.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

The most current Garmin models, dezl 570 & 770, were released in January 2015. Prior to that, the dezl 760 was released in October 2012 and the dezl 560 was released in February 2011. With that being said, I think it is safe to say you are in the clear with purchasing the current 570 model. They tend to focus more on software version updates then physical unit updates. So along with your lifetime map updates you will need to make software version updates every so often as well.

Just to add...If for some reason they were going to release a new model I would expect them to announce it at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2017. This would be similar to their most current model release in Janurary 2015.
