I've seen some wonky approaches to fuel islands in my time, but this truly takes the cake.

I completely understand this pic. The poor student was going to go in one he liked... and the trainer started yelling.."get the one on the end".

Been there done that. Of course.. I didn't listen and always chose the one I liked.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Looks like the one next to him might be blocked with cones, so maybe that's what happened. Anyway, I've never had to back out of a fuel island, but it's been close. I've pulled my trailer through at about the maximum angle possible.

I've had to back out once, but not because of the angle.

I had just stopped to go to the bathroom so I pulled in behind someone who was pulled up to the line. My thought was by the time I ran in and out, they would have left and I could just head on out.

20 minutes later.....

There was a ton of room and no incoming traffic so I just backed out enough to make the turn away from the pumps.

This aggravates me to no end, especially when the island is super busy.

If there was a trainer in that truck, they are probably dead, either from embarrassment, or from a stroke.
