I don't mind getting to customers early if I can take a nap... what I do hate is when they tell you "it will be a while..take that door when truck pulls out." Or when U are told to get the BOL when the green light comes on.

That just sucks. Let me sleep and take my number to wake me up.

I find that a lot of places will come wake you up on the "wait for the green light", I'd set my alarm for when I want to wake up and just go to sleep. They'll send a yard dog or lumper to wake you up if they need the door. It's not like you are going to be towed off the dock haha. The other situation does suck though.

I've gotten to where I tell most consignees that I don't have a cb when they ask because I'd rather get a phone call, too.

Consignee:

The customer the freight is being delivered to. Also referred to as "the receiver". The shipper is the customer that is shipping the goods, the consignee is the customer receiving the goods.

This is a very very tight place of mostly 35 ft and 46 ft trailers. I had to straight line it through the entire lot just to park...extremely close to parked cars.

I'm not in a door yet :( you can tell when. They are done cause of the rocking. But this sucks :(
