Just to throw this into the mix - be aware of the fact that insurance companies have drivers out on the road that will monitor the driving of their clients. Twice in my career I received messages from safety saying that I had been followed by an insurance vehicle and that my driving was deemed safe at the time and thanking me for that.

Especially in today's world there are cameras everywhere and I think in the coming years you're going to see more of them for all sorts of purposes, reporting aggressive drivers being one of them.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I've been known to call in on the more aggressive/egregious commercial drivers. Don't know that the trouble of getting enough ID on the driver (Tractor #/Trailer #) and sitting on hold trying to get through is actually worth it.

As many posters have noted, usually the worst offenders aren't company drivers, but O/O's driving crapboxes that you wonder how they make it through a weigh station without getting pulled in and put OOS. So there really isn't anyone to call on these guys - except the State Troopers.

If you look on most highways - the "quickie cell number" for most State Police Emergency is on signs. In Florida (for example) it is *FHP.

What really twists my nipples is IMPAIRED DRIVERS. These guys will get a call EVERY TIME - and if I'm in my 4-wheeler, I will follow at a safe distance and stay on the phone with police dispatch until the offender gets pulled over.

Rick

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
