You're driving an 80,000 pound death machine.

This video looks like something out of the movies!

Semi Plows Into Line Of Vehicles Injuring 8

A semi plows into a group of cars backed up on the Interstate , sending vehicles flying through the air.

Full Story: Semi, 6 cars crash, injuring 8 on Tri-State Tollway near Gurnee

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

That's amazing and fortunate that no one was killed by said 80,000 lbs death machine....seriously....

check out Alaska's Bridge Laws/Limits

I honestly didn't know for awhile that 80,000lbs was the max down south, and by south, I mean the contiguous states.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Hit the brakes after impact, swerved three feet from impact. Could not have been looking at the road from what I saw.

Anchorman, that full story link is behind a pay wall.

I saw this video be shared on Facebook. Completely flabbergasted, looked like it was straight out of a movie scene plowing through. Definitely curious why the hell the driver wasn't paying attention. Don't think this driver will be doing that again...

Yeah, he never even attempted to slow down or avoid the wreck at all. He clearly wasn't watching the road in front of him. Had to be looking down in his cab at something.

Thank God no one was killed but one was in critical condition the article said. Just awful.
