Jose, welcome to the forum!

Having a felony background does make it a little tougher, but not impossible. You are going to have to work a little harder than others but you can find a job out there somewhere. Some companies give a ten year limit on felonies while others say five years, and there are some that won't hire at all with a felony. There are some companies out there that will work with you though. I drive for Western Express and I know that we have some drivers with felony backgrounds, you may also want to try looking up a company on the internet called Carolina Cargo. They've been known to provide folks with a second chance also. Good luck man, and let us know how things turn out for you. If you need some more help jump in here and we will do our best to help.

Old School aced it. It really all depends on the company. They all have different requirements.

You're going to have to do some searching. Call companies and talk to their recruiting department. You have to be honest with them. If you are dishonest they usually find out and that means no job for you. If you arrive to their school and they find out you lied they won't be paying for your transportation back home. So be 100% honest.

I know a few companies off the top of the head that are more lenient when it comes to felonies. If you don't mind team driving, then look up CRST. Also look up CR England. I've known people who have gotten hired even with felonies. But you should really engage every company!

Also, do not be picky. You're in no position to be picky. Whatever offer you get you need to jump on it.

You absolutely must check out this LINK. You need to mass-apply. What I mean by that is you need to apply to every company that exists and see who will and wont take you. Don't focus on just a single company, like I said earlier, you're not in that position. Whoever takes you is a golden opportunity for you. That link allows you to apply to multiple companies all at the same time instead of applying to them individually.

Good luck and ask questions. You're only hurting yourself if you don't.

Their are many companies that will hire you. You have to do the research though. This is what I did to start. i went to Google and typed in,"what trucking companies will hire felons". This is what I came up with. http://www.topix.com/forum/business/trucking/TU2OK7LQLODD6DPQK

On this webpage are several companies and ideas as to who will hire. You just have to decide who you want to go to work for.

Just because you have a felony does not mean you cannot live a life as everyone else does. I know it may seem like at time, but that is far from the truth. I have heard it said many times that many people have done things, they just were never caught. That's true in some cases. But that fact that our society is what is does not mean that you have to play into their standard. You can rise above that standard and be even more than what they are. You believe in your self that you are going to get a good job and live a new life, it will happen.

If you get knocked down, get back up. I know you know what I mean. You have made it this far and you only have a little ways more to go. Check out the link and read through some of it.

Check with your local Labor Department too. They have a bonding program for felons that can help you get a job as well. It cost nothing. The Labor department has some good leads too.

Good luck and let us know how things are going.good-luck.gif
