I believe there is one of these in Colorado on I-25, a bit south of Cheyenne, WY.
It might be in Wyoming, not sure. I think it's on exit 7, where there is a Loves, but not sure what state.
The first time I ran into it, it was after a long day driving. I stopped, turned on my flashers, ignored the horns behind me, and stared until I was sure I knew what the hell it was.
Duluth on the NE of Atlanta has a few. Kinda makes you scratch your head. I have dealt with similar when I drove a CAT 775B about 15 years ago for a mining outfit. They would crossover the drive side on a few hills where there a sharp right turn at the bottom. It was for safety reasons. It allowed the trucks to more easily see each other.

Yep it's on the Wyoming side
I've seen a few of these. Now if they could just remove roundabouts, everything would be awesome!
Yep I25 exit 7 in Wyoming
Yeah, it's great that they're still innovating things like road configurations. Thanks for sharing this!
Utah has six of these between American Fork and Brigham City, plus St George has one at the Boulevard exit over the interstate , Cedar City changed their south exit to a diamond interchange a couple of years ago too.
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

You may have already driven through a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). On a surface street crossing an Intestate, you notice a traffic signal that swaps which side you drive on (now you are on the left side of the roadway!). This side-swap has removed the Left Turn lane from the road. It also makes traffic flow easier and faster. Not to speak of eliminating the more dangerous left-turn accident situations.
Washington State DOT is so proud of theirs, they made this 4 minute VIDEO
