Happy Thanksgiving....Hopefully most of y'all can be home for the holiday but for those of you that have to be out, I hope you have a safe and happy holiday.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

First turkey day away from the family for me...not sure where I'll spend it, still waiting on dispatch to give a load. Happy Thanksgiving everyone... Be safe and God Speed!

I'm hauling Christmas trees from Portland to El Centro on Thanksgiving. Supposed to be in Phoenix spending the holiday with relatives. Put in for it weeks ago for 4 days starting the 23rd but we'll see.

We are 38 miles from Victoria TX where we are spending Thanksgiving with some very good friends of ours. All truck drivers... should be an interesting few days!

And my silly self volunteered to cook Thanksgiving dinner for 5, count em, 5 grown men. All good ole boys who can put away the grub. I'm kinda wondering if I'm making enough food!

I have a load to Laredo that doesn't deliver until Monday so it's going to a nice relaxing few days. We don't really have anything planned except some Cards Against Humanity and possibly going go-karting Friday.

Small world, I used to live in victoria, before I went OTR.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

TA/Petro will be offering a $5 gift card with the purchase of a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

I was surprised to find myself routed home for Thanksgiving even though I didn't request it off. But I pretty much go back and forth between Maine and PA, so I go by home a couple times a week. Still, it was a nice surprise.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Sadly I won't be home (Victoria, Texas by the way) I'm on my way to Port of Long Beach now. I'm on I-80 in Nebraska, anyone have an opinion on whether to stay on I-80 to Salt Lake then head south on I-15 or drop down to I-70 through Denver to hit I-15 in southern Utah? Most important item is time, the fewest climbs the better. Load delivers late Friday.
