Okay so this is completely random question about Schneider. Do they still have the orange trucks anymore or have they just went to random colors. I know the lease operators have the different colored ones but do the company drivers still get orange ones? The reason I am asking is in my 8 weeks of TNT I very rarely see the orange ones anymore!

TNT:

Trainer-N-Trainee

Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.

The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.

The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14ยข per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

...they still have orange trucks and trailers.

As others said, the trailers are almost all orange, and they do have orange tractors (mine is orange), but they have other colors as well. It's not just leased trucks, i see a lot of company drivers with white ones, for example. When i call for maintenance they ask what color my truck is, so it must mean something to them, like maybe what year it is or what division owns it or something.

Does it have anything to do with being assigned to Dedicated? Seems like all of the Schneider Walmart drivers I meet at the stores have either white or platinum metallic tractors. When clean, the platinum version is a sharp looking truck. Come to think of it, I have yet to see an orange tractor on Walmart Dedicated and I see them frequently in the northwestern part of my DC's territory.

It has to do with RESALE. Schneider has so many trucks to get rid of every year it is easier to sell "champagne" colored or white.

Well, I know that I've seen non-dedicated drivers with non-orange trucks, but I suppose it's possible that they were originally bought for a dedicated account. I think they have black ones for Harley Davidson. But Steve says..

Which also makes a lot of sense. As for them asking the color when I call in, it occurred to me after I posted that they just might want to be able to tell the tow truck or service truck driver what color the truck is.

BTW G-Town, I'm sorry I referred to you as 'others'. For some reason I thought more than one response had mentioned orange trailers.
