Here is another pre trip inspection video. It is 30 minutes long covering both inside and outside inspections. Seems to be pretty thorough but did notice a couple things that would be flagged at least in Indiana.
When going ocer the lights he does mention them not being cracked or broken and that they are proper color, but he does not mention to check that they are working.
On the inside he does not check for play in the steering wheel being less than 10 degrees, but he does mention it when he is outside looking at the steering shaft. If he is moving the shaft by hand is that an acceptable check?
All in all one of the best pre trip videos I have found on YouTube. But keep in mind that opinion is from someone that has not been through school yet so take it for what it's worth lol.

Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
