I was scheduled to go with Prime Inc Feb 6 but something came up and I had to cancel the whole thing , I was wondering will I have to pay them for not being able to go?

Based on your question it would seem as if you just didn't show up. I suggest you call them and explain the circumstances of your "no-show".

What would they charge you for? Nothing...

Sorry today is the 3rd...you still should call them, especially if you intend to eventually reschedule your orientation date.

I've called them and at first the guy said that if I put in another application there is no guarantee that they would accept it , because they spent so much money on everything

I had the money to go then something happened now I have to wait until I get my taxes, so now I'm thinking of going with Knight Transportation when I do get my taxes back

Tris...things happen. Prime knows that, unless you have some compelling reason to go to Knight, I'd stick with your original choice. Although Knight is a great company, I believe their schooling options are more limited than what Prime offers.

I suggest reviewing this link: Paid CDL Training Programs

Also take a look at the Trucking Truth starter kit:

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

They did a small amount of BG investigating- but not at great expense. If a bus ticket wasn't issued, they didn't even have to go to the hassle of getting it refunded. They are out little money at this point for processing your app. The real $$ gets spent on the processing AFTER YOU ARRIVE at orientation (for which you bring $150), because they know for all applicants - only a fraction actually show for orientation.

If they were your FIRST CHOICE - then re-apply when you are getting closer to KNOWING FOR SURE that you are ready to do. Unless there is a reason why you think Knight would be a better fit for you.

Tris...relax. You don't owe them anything. Regroup, read the information I posted for you and start the process once Uncle Sam comes through with your refund.
