This is a good reason for trip planning so if you do loose signal you still know were your going and what your routing is.

Doing it old school.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Have you tried the reset button? Little small button, I think on the back, use a pen point or something small to push it and it will reset. Has fixed mine a few times.

I believe Rainy trip plans. It is very nice to use the POI function on the RM. Truck Stops, Rest Areas, Walmarts, etc. I use those functions on mine all of the time. Remaining miles and ETA are also a HUGE help. I would like to change my 1st sentence. I KNOW Rainy trip plans! Geez, cut her some slack on the "You should trip plan crap"

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OOS:

Rick last I checked all 27 satellites were property of the u.s government, no other county had gps satellites up, last I checked.

There are actually 32 satellites in the GPS constellation. As of today (7 Feb 17), all 32 were in operation, except for 3 that were down for short periods of time for scheduled maintenance. http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/gpscurr.html

In addition, the Russians have a similar system called Glonass. Most newer smartphones, as well as stand alone GPS devices have Glonass chips in them, improving the overall user accuracy.

T-Man I was not saying rainy dose not trip plan at all. It was just a general statement to the new drivers about the importance of trip planning. Good info on the satellites I did not know about the Russian set up.

Another thing you can do is take your GPS to the Rand-McNally booth at any of the truck shows and turn it in. They will give you a brand spanking new one, complete with all the latest updates, no questions asked. Heard about this a couple weeks ago on "The Dave Nemo Show" on Sirius XM Channel 146, Road Dog Trucking Channel.

Yes thanks. I've only had it a couple.months....and this is the first goofy thing it's done.

Tractor Man...my hero. Thanks for defending me, but I don't think the comment was meant to insult me lol

Its like you said...I know where the best stops.are I just love keeping track of my distance and knowing my ETA...I can do that on QC too...but the range on RM goes much further than the navgo.

First thing I thought was the Russians wanted to stop Trump from tweeting lol
