Hey John, hopefully someone will post some links to the stuff we usually point people to for additional reading. I just want to say that the negative stuff online is a bunch of bunkum. Trucking is still a good business to get into. And Kansas is a pretty good place to live since a lot of freight goes through there, so you shouldn't have any trouble at all finding a good job while living there. Good luck!

When old school and bud speak the universe listens. First driving isn't easy, many people have misconceptions and fail to realize for many of us it's a lifestyle change. Like any profession you'll find individuals that just can't stand their jobs, employer, family, friends, themselves, yada yada yada. Please take it with a grain of salt anytime people bad mouth their employers here. In fact after we call them out on situations 98% of the time it's their own doing.

Thanks to all that replied. This is a great site with lots of good information and helpful people. The two positions i have been looking at are flatbed and tankers. It looks like they have a little bit more work involved but the pay seems to be better. I could be wrong any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone I hope all is well. I have been thinking about getting into trucking for a while now. I have read many different post here and on other sites. I am having a hard time deciding what the best path for me would be. It seems like every other post about companies are negative ones. Anyways I live in Kansas I'm not married and no kids so being gone is not a problem for me. Any advice on what the best path would be is very much appreciated.
