Good morning good sir, I was honestly planning on reading this and was going to let someone else reply because I am super short on time tonight.
But there's one thing me and you both have in common; we both have back problems. The only difference is I was born with mine and it was supposed to paralyze me except by the grace of God it was healed.
We all have bumps getting into trucking, some cases worse than others. I would recommend you either find employment someone for a few years then apply to companies or keep applying right now to every company and just be honest with them. Hope someone sees something in you and gives you a chance. Use this link to save time on your application, it uses one application and sends them to every company.
Thanks for the link Daniel.
My back pain is a thing of the past though. I no longer have any issues at all.
I went from not being able to brush my teeth to doing concrete work and installing glass doors(they're heavy!)
I haven't had any pain since it was healed through prayer.
It was nothing short of a miracle and completely amazing.

If God can do all of that for you, then surely he can pull these strings together for you too.
So don't lose any sleep, don't lose any faith and don't doubt - if this is the path He wants you to take then sit back and relax and it will happen.
Fill out some applications and see where that leads. You have your whole life ahead of you so stay joyful and grateful!
Drive S, companies are more interested in what you did between jobs. Probably the only thing that is bad is if you "didn't feel like working". Truck driving requires a certain amount of Self Starting, since you spend 99% of your time alone, driving and planning your routes and work schedule. Disability is as good an explanation as any.
You may want to get a note from your doctor explaining that now you are OK for lifting things, etc. (Some companies include agility tests in the hiring process, others don't.)

Hi There, first time poster..
I really appreciate the knowledge many of you have about the trucking industry and I'm really thankful for the help I've received researching here. But I haven't had any luck finding an answer to this question.
Maybe some of you can help guide us here.
I'm looking for a training company that will accept someone with a 'spotty' employment record.
In the last three years I've worked about 1 year total between about 6 jobs.
It's not an impressive record, I know.
I was also unemployed for the 7 years prior to those 3.
For everyone curious, I was involved in a work accident 10 years ago as a courier. While standing in a parking lot, I was run over by a semi. For 5 years and 11 months I had a torn disc in my spine that kept me from working. I lost my normal driving job, my websites, and my family as a result.
I turned to Christ for help and almost 4 years ago I was completely healed. From one second to the next I went from being 100% disabled to jumping, running and shouting with joy. It was awesome, epic, and completely life changing to how I look at the world.
Swift was willing to give me a shot, but I was a little too honest on their application about some prior, legal where I lived, activity that I did in December and I was disqualified.
I can pass a hair test today, no problem. I also learned I to be more understanding when I read: illegal drugs to include marijuana; and realize, if it were legal for me it wasn't illegal, and obviously not what they meant.
If you know any companies that are willing to work with someone who has an ugly employment history, I'd love to hear who it is and what they would need to cover the unemployment gaps. A notarized letter, references?
Thanks for helping and have a blessed day!
