So I'm having issues remembering to do my logs on the qualcomm right it's not that I don't care I just keep forgetting and I can't seem to get it right like tonight I forgot to send in my post trip but I didn't drive today at all so that threw me off even though we have talked about it just the day before... I don't know why but I'm apparently unable to keep my mind on things that needs to be done, not that I don't want to do this job or anything like that... I just for some reason can't seem to get my crap together here any advice for a new guy? Maybe a hammer so I can beat this stuff into my brain??

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Why are you doing a post trip if you didn't drive?

What about setting an alarm? It wouldn't be feasible for your changes throughout the day, but for post and pretrips you could at least set a reminder in the ballpark. If your ten was up at noon you could set one for 1230: log pre trip 1700: break? 0001: post trip

Not sure it would work, but it's an idea.

Agree with Big T's point; "post trip when you didn't drive?" Why?

My suggestion is build a semi- permanent to-do list until your daily process becomes routine. Refer to it at least twice per day as a check-list. You'll find over the course of a month that you'll need it less and less.

Also try to relax, hammering isn't necessary. You'll get this.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Because apparently you have to send in 46 regardless of either you drove or not unless you are on home time and it's logged that you are on ht company policy

I believe what you're referring to is "No DVIR Required" and yes, you do need that when you don't drive that day.

Like G town said, make yourself a checklist of things to do throughout the day in relation to logs. If you follow the checklist to a T every day, eventually it will become second nature and you won't forgot... most of the time... sometimes I forget to update my load tab to show MT after getting unloaded.

Since you said 46, I'm guessing you are Werner. If so you have to send in your 46 on any day you have any on duty time at all, driving or non driving. If you didn't log any on duty time at all you don't need to send one
