Take 90,290,294,80,94. However with all the construction it is pretty bad. You are going to hit backups. If 290 looks like it is getting backed up horribly before you get to it, you can also just stay on 90 until you get to 294. It will add a few miles. Unfortunately heading into SW Michigan you are very limited on choices around Chicago.

From what I've heard: get out and look, in Chicago, fur shur. Walk the whole alleyway, if there is one, before backing.

Good luck.

Just went through there a week ago coming out of Tennessee going to Joliet and it wasn't that bad. Aslo went from Joliet to Geneva and wasn't bad either then came out of Geneva to Danville IL and the whole day was pretty easy going

90 and 290 will be your hardest part because of all the commuters going to work in Chicago but on 294 and 80 you will be going against the grain because most of the traffic is out of Chicago and not into it

I went thru Chicago yesterday evening around 1830 (big surprise). The only backups I ran into was 290/294 junction (totally expected) and the construction areas on 294. Other than that smooth sailing. I am about 45 mins south on 65. I pulled over at the TA Demotte exit 230. It always amazes me. The Love's across the street is always packed. People do creative parking, yet the TA always has parking. Just pull in and back into a spot. Granted it is a blind 45. But I did remember saying I was going to keep forcing myself to practice. I am getting a lot better at blindsides.
