Hey congrats Thomas! Love to hear it!
I have seen so many people come an go so far and it all true that attitude is everything. Some blame the school instructors for failing them but I guarantee it is all about each person and not the school
I wish every new driver in America that successfully completes a Company-Sponsored Training Program would come here and tell the rest of the world how true that is. Thanks for sharing that! It is by far the #1 misconception in the trucking industry - that you have to pick a good company and avoid the bad ones. Baloney. Trucking companies have to pick good drivers and avoid the bad ones! And the sooner someone understands how real that is the better their chances of success in this industry. And it looks like Knight has found themselves a good one!
Congrats again Thomas! Keep us updated. Hopefully you'll get a trainer you can get along with pretty well. That sure does make the learning process a lot nicer.

A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
Awesome!!! Congrats!!! Ill be starting with my company on Dec 4th. I cant wait to get going. It is definitely true about the bad seeds out there. If you have a good attitude and go out and do your job then I would think there would be no problems. Good luck!
CONGRATS THOMAS...and enjoy that closed door run....those are my favorite..big miles= big money every time. Be safe, and come back and tell us how your doing !!

What an awesome experience. Got a 93% on my skills evaluation after 3 days on the range. I am leaving for my first run this morning with my new trainer and I could not be happier. They gave me a 3600 mile run for my first trip. Keep the doors closed and the wheels turning. I have seen so many people come an go so far and it all true that attitude is everything. Some blame the school instructors for failing them but I gaurentee it is all about each person and not the school. They really want everyone to pass but some just are not cut out for it. Off I go to the open road. Kudos to Knight Transportation for awesome people and awesome instructors. I can't imagine going anywhere else.
